It is with sorrow and frustration we now have made the final decision to cancel Ethno Sweden as well as the anniversary festival EthnoFest 2020. The unclear situation with the Corona pandemic makes it impossible to make reliable plans for this summer. Nobody knows what the situation will be like in July, if the virus is still creating problems in Sweden and abroad, if you are allowed to travel and if you are allowed to meet in crowds bigger than 50 people.
We also follow the advice from authorities and since the health of us all is the most important thing this decision is the only possible one to take at the moment.
The good news is that there will be a new Ethno in 2021 – and that EthnoFest is not cancelled; it is just postponed until 2021 and it will take place right after Ethno Sweden, just as planned!
So there are things to look forward to at this moment too. We will get a chance to celebrate Ethno 31 years together!
And Ethno on the road, the Ethno Sweden tour version, will hopefully take place in Sweden in November 2020. We will invite old participants to go on this tour that takes off at Folkmusiknatta in Falun and finishes at the World Music Festival in Piteå. Keep your fingers crossed that the virus is gone by then!
TICKETS & REGISTRATION 2020:
Did you register for Ethno Sweden 2020 and pay the fee? Did you register for EthnoFest through Mubazar? Or did you buy tickets to EthnoFest or the Ethno Concert at Folkmusikens hus? You will get an email from us with information about that.
All of you thar registered for Ethno and did not pay the fee yet – please fill in the new application form that will open in January 2021.
Stay well now, take care and keep the music alive – and see you all on the other side of the Corona!
